After being pelted with the wrath of Miss Supercell storm, a sudden heatwave is expected to hit Southern Queensland and New South Wales.

The temperature is forecasted to rise over 10 degrees Celsius above average, with some areas reaching highs of 37C. The heatwave is expected to impact the 120,000 people attending three simultaneous concerts in Olympic Park this weekend, with Penrith set to hit 37C on Monday.

The Bureau of Meteorology has warned of an elevated fire danger and urged people to stay cool by drinking plenty of water and wearing sun-protective clothing.
